For over 25 years Dr. Andy Penaluna has been researching the history of the airbrush. Despite the huge interest in the instrument and the integration of airbrushing into our everyday lives, few records were made of it's origin - so the search for the truth was not an easy task. Ultimately he wrote a 100,000 illustrated thesis on the subject and exhibits an original working 1885 model at international exhibitions where he is happy to demonstrate its use. These pages are intended to give airbrush scholars an insight into his work and to give clarity to the series of events and people that gave us this wonderful art tool .
